MY APPROACH

A wise man once suggested we do unto others as we would have them do unto us.  With that in mind, I strive to be the doctor that I'd want to see if the roles were reversed.  When looking for a doctor I value a caring demeanor, a willingness to take the time to listen to my concerns, a reasonable expertise in the area of my concern, and the ability to explain what is going on and why.  That's what I try to emulate for my patients.

In addition to this, I strive to keep my patients' interests and their quality of life at the centre of our therapeutic relationship.  Our goal is to use whatever tools we have at our disposal (whether natural, pharmaceutical, surgical or otherwise) to achieve the outcomes that are most important to you, the patient.

In a day where 7 minute doctor visits and month long wait-lists to see specialists are the norm, many people are frustrated.  They're frustrated that there's only time to address one concern, and often the only treatment options are pharmaceuticals that, while they may help  symptoms, they do nothing to address cause.  For these reasons, many people are turning to alternatives for help.

Others are wary, often rightfully so, of "alternative" health professionals.  They may have questions of safety, effectiveness, credibility, and training.  It is my responsibility to use scientific validated diagnostic tools and therapies when available, and to use reason when there aren't.
